Privacy Policy

Kodomo no Zukan (こどもずかん, “the App”) is a picture dictionary for young children, published by Jorrel (“we”, “us”). The App has no accounts, no ads, no analytics and no tracking. This policy explains the small amount of data involved in running the App and this website.
Summary
- We do not collect names, email addresses, photos, locations or any other personal information from children or parents.
- Your child’s progress (which pages are unlocked, sound on/off) is stored only on your device.
- Purchases are processed by Apple or Google. We use RevenueCat to confirm purchases; it receives an anonymous ID and purchase receipt, never your name or payment details.
- The App contains no advertising, no analytics SDKs and no social features.
Information stored on your device
The App saves a few settings locally using your device’s standard storage:
- which pages have been completed or unlocked;
- whether sound is muted;
- whether a purchase has been made.
This information never leaves your device and is deleted when you delete the App.
In-app purchases
The App offers a one-time purchase to unlock all pages. Payments are handled entirely by the Apple App Store or Google Play; we never see or store your payment information.
To confirm and restore purchases we use RevenueCat, a purchase-management service. When the App checks or restores a purchase, RevenueCat receives:
- a randomly generated, anonymous app user ID;
- the purchase receipt / transaction details from Apple or Google;
- basic technical information needed to process the request (such as app version, platform, device locale and IP address).
This information is used only to validate purchases and is not used for advertising or to build a profile of you or your child. See the RevenueCat Privacy Policy, Apple Privacy Policy and Google Privacy Policy.
Children’s privacy
The App is designed for children under 13 and is intended to be used with a parent. We comply with the U.S. Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), the EU/UK GDPR (including its provisions for children), and Japan’s Act on the Protection of Personal Information (APPI) by not collecting personal information from children at all.
Purchases and parent settings sit behind a parental gate so children cannot make purchases or reach them by accident.
Permissions
The App only needs an internet connection to make or restore a purchase. It does not access the camera, microphone, contacts, photos or location.
This website
This website is a static site. It does not use cookies, analytics or advertising. Your light/dark theme choice is saved in your browser’s local storage. Web fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, and our hosting provider may keep standard server logs (such as IP address and browser type) for security and reliability.
Data retention and deletion
Because we don’t hold personal data, there is nothing for us to delete on our side. Deleting the App removes all locally stored data. If you’d like RevenueCat’s anonymous purchase records removed, contact us and we’ll arrange it.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal data about you. As we don’t collect personal data, these requests will usually be simple — please contact us with any questions.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update the date above and, for significant changes, note it in the App’s release notes.
